87 years and no theory led to actions to prevent deaths and suffering now

I'm reading this morning about the theories of International Relations specifically, Chris Brown and Kirsten Ainsley(2005) and Scott Burchill(2005), and I can't help thinking, inspired by looking at my beautiful two year old grandaughter, in my bed, that I'd like to make a contribution to the ongoing search for the theory or theories that can ensure a just world - free of war, violence, unequal economic system, corrupt leaders, where there is religious tolerance, cooperation by all governments and non-government players to reduce problems created by "global commons" etc. All theorists though should be charged with an ethical and moral responsibility to create a peaceful world in which the unborn and the innocent children of today can grow up in. I think it is therefore imperative to keep the debate alive until we get closer to the best theory or combination of theories :)

Why ban the Da Vinci Code(film) ?

I read that the reason that the film is kept from public viewing in Upolu, Savai'i, Manono and Apolima, is the perceived effect it may have on young Samoans and adults whose christian faith are not fully developed. If this is the case, the ban would, in my view arouse a greater degree of curiosity and suspicion in the targetted group, who may seek to do two things: One, to seek to read Dan Brown's book, The Da Vinci Code, on which the film is based(if not read as fiction, can be interpreted as more anti-orthodox than the film), or two, sneak over to Pago, where Samoans there are given the right to judge for themselves; whichever way, it may create a sense of "...so this is what they are hiding from us..." and a subsequent anti-church, anti-Bible kind of attitude in the targetted group.

Rather than the ban, the Da vinci Code (film) should be viewed and the fact that it is fiction be made known at the outset. Additionally, informed christian educators or representatives offer opportunies for discussions to those who may have issues and concerns about messages they may receive from the film dialogue. Who knows...this may be the work of the Holy Spirit, challenging all christians and church establishments to teach more and explain more and prove their ability to defend the humanity and divinity of God.

I have read the book and found it a riveting novel...a view shared by many young and older readers. I have watched the the film and thought it a gripping murder mystery with all its attractive setting: Paris..London..the Vatican..Leonardo Da Vinci's paintings and so on...provides an excellent escape for the mind, away from the reality of: the conflict in East Timor, the suicide bombing, civilian deaths in the ongoing conflict between Israelis and Palestinians, thousands and thousands of displaced people in Sudan and millions of Afghanistan refugees in Pakistan and many more real issues out there in the world for christians and christian churches to include on their current prayers and charity work.
