Congratulations Barack Obama

Congratulations Barack Obama on your inauguration as 44th President of USA.

Your words speaks the truth about what has been the problem in politics, American politics and hence global politics.. As you say,

" On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn-out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics.

We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things. The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness".

My prayers are that you will as leader of America will lead the world into the God-given promise and to global peace and harmony.
May the Lord bless you and keep you and your wife and daughters. May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you PEACE to see through all the many things (global poverty, global financial crises and global environmental crises) that need doing.

All the best,

Meripa

Happy 65th birthday David

Congratulations to my husband David Weir! He's 65 today 21st January 2009.
I am proud of David's determination to stay alive despite his "crook lungs". His simple goal in life is to stay healthy. This motivates him to physically drain his chest three times or four times a day.

Whilst depression and despair are the down side of having "crook lungs", David's goal "to breathe and live" kept him going to this day. He looks remarkably fit and healthy at 65.

Well done David. Love you.

Meripa

On Sunday 18th, we had a BBQ at the lagoon at Redcliffe beach to celebrate. At the bbq were David's sisters Cris and Corrie, niece Jane and husband Dennis with their sons Joshua and Nicholas.
It was great to see David's nephew Todd who has had a few "hospital stays" in 2008.
From Goodna- David's grand children, Nathan, Michelle and Jaeden and parents Julien and Fina.
From Calamvale- David, Meripa, Michelle(daughter) and Justin(son)
We also celebrated Nathan's 7th birthday at the beach.

My sister Pou brought a couple of pineapple pies (David's favourite) today.

THANKS ALL for making it special for David's at 65.
