Thank you Jesus

What a beautiful day it is today in Brisbane! The sky is clear. The air is fresh. The jacaranda, hibiscus, antherium, frangipani and musanda provide a colourful mix of flowers in the garden with lorikeets and pegions joining in with their musical voices. The national news highlights the weekend visit of Mr Cheney fom the U.S., the road toll over the weekend, Prime Minister Howard's determined stance not to allow the 80 boat people from Indonesia to land in Australian soil, and the negotiations between States and Federal Government water resources. The internet continues to tell about the War in Iraq and the many civilians and combats killed; the hungry and homeless in Sudan, the Israel and Palestinians violent confrontations, the nuclear disarmament and weapons of mass destruction talks with reference to North Korea and Iran, India and Pakistan!

Why can't there be a truely peaceful world, so everyone can admire the clear blue sky, the beautiful flowers and the singing of the birds?

Thank you Jesus...that in the midst of man-made conflicts arising in war, death, poverty and much suffering .... there is You and your example of peace and love for all. Thank you for our many blessings especially in the past five years. I feel your strong guiding hand in all our family's worries and challenges of the recent years. Thank you.

During this year and beyond, give us the courage and strength to sustain in our small efforts to promote your message of love and harmony in this world.

Thank You Jesus.
