Church International Dinner for Sudanese Or phans

Last night, David and I attended an international dinner to raise funds for Sudanese orphans through a project called "Save the Sudanese Children". Dinner was hosted and organised by a team led by Michelle Shumack of Forest Lake Uniting Church. It was held at the Forest Lake Alpine Place. Ten countries were represented in the Menu for the Dinner. We took 'taro and palusami cuisine' to add to Tumema Taui'alo's fish in coconut delight, and 'pisupo in pumpkin exquisite'. It all went!! Michelle Weir and Olive Taui'alo served the Polynesian food with plenty of island smiles. Tasi Taui'alo sat by supporting the duo and praying for baby to arrive.

Tongans and Sudanese groups provided music and song for entertainment.

It was a great night.

Message from Dr Schuller on Hour of Power

" FAITH IS THE SUBSTANCE OF THINGS HOPED FOR "

(Hebrew 11:1)

In these times of the world facing a worse economic crisis since the Great Depression, Dr Schuller holds up the 'Holy Bible' and articulates " This is the Bible..The Word of God'.

Five basics of hope-filled living :-

1. Become a person (God made each individual a different being).

2. Be a manager of ideas ( Many ideas come into your head)

3. Be proud of who you are. (You are a child of God).

4. Become a Possibility Thinker! ("I can!" instead of "I can't").

5. Recognize the presence of God ( He says, " I will never leave you, or forsake you" (Hebrew 13:5)

Walk by faith and not by sight
In darkness God is your light.

Thank You Dr Schuller

Grandkids in Samoa

The three Weir grandkids - Nathan, Michelle and Jaeden and their parents Julien and Josepine arrived safely Saturday on Air New Zealand. "No one is missing fox tv ..they are running around playing with the neighbours kids ...in and out of their house and Papa's house..." is the first report from relieved dad Julien.

Such is the beauty of village living..no fences..neighbours chat...a sense of freedom..technology free.. and the sea and ocean in view..

Have fun and enjoy

Nanna will instead get back to "Fox" to keep up with the Obama-McCain race to Presidency of USA!!! oh and of course for some light entertainment...The Australian Idol on Channel 10 at 1930 ha! ha! I already know who the idol will be ..It's WES !!!
