Dear Editor,

Yes, all eyes are now on His Highness The Head of State Tuiatua Tupua Tamasese Ta'isi Efi. His first real challenge in office has arrived. What will he do? As a result of the workings of a majority one party system, the nation is divided and the people are hurt. They are hurt not by the actions of some coloniser from abroad; nor by any powerful transnational coorporation. They are hurt because of the clever manipulation a one party political system to pass a bill regardless of what the people want.. the people who elected those representatives who voted by force and not by the guidance of their constituencies. Will His Highness act the parent role and counsel the members of political family about the essence of the democratic system? or will His highness remember what he said in a recent paper he delivered where referring to moral and ethical leadership he says "...The measure of leadership can be found in Christ's question about love..."

May God's grace guide the leadership of His Highness The Head of State of Samoa.

Soifua
